I came home from a week away and found the columbine, salvia, and tulips blooming.

Oh, those columbine are exquisite. Do they bloom only briefly? They are supposed to be perennial, so I sort of expect them to bloom for a while. I do not grow them though. They do not last long here when others try to grow them. They are like annuals, but bloom only briefly.
